I have one, almost a year old now.
When I just had her I had no clue how the temperament of a retic is like. I just saw her and had to get her.
I got her as a baby and I would just pick her up, the first few weeks were fine in quarantine. I went in with just my hand and picked her up no problem. Sometimes a little twitchy so I pulled back fast (I'm a scaredy cat).. I put her in her new home, everything was fine still. And then a month later or so, striking the glass where I walked, breathing heavily and just so fiercely striking the glass... I started tap training her and now we both have this ritual of me opening the glass door, bring in the hook and tap her, and then she knows she can chill out because there is no food involved and I can just scoop her up and handle her.
When I handle her she's calm as can be and rolls up in a ball and chill outI love her very much, it's a huge difference between a rat snake and a retic. Quite interesting
