what color are ball pythons eyes?

i could tell my ball python zen was going to shed because of the color of his eyes, this is the first time he has shed with me. He shed in a few large pieces that were all crumbled up and i cant find a head piece, im not sure if hes shed his head or not, because his eyes seem a little light, are ball pythons eyes not all the way black?

BP eyes can be blue, green, black, and red from what I have seen so far. My BPs eyes are not just 1 solid color.

Did you check all around the hides? They start by rubbing their heads so those pieces sometimes stay stuck to the side of something. Their eyes come in all sorts of colors but will look more dull if eye caps didnt come off.

Thanks that's an interesting shot of the dented eye ... I've heard of them but I never seen one till now ..

I read that 'dented' eye caps can be a sign of dehydration !?!

Is that so , would you think ?

You said the shed was crumpled? You could try unravelling it to find the head piece. It'll probably be dry but you could wet it a little bit.

It's not normal; it means the humidity needs to be higher. Some BPs do great with a low of 50%, and some like it on the high side.
