YES YOU NEED A THERM for any and all heating.

You need to to make sure the element you are using can hold the bulb. Make sure wattages match up and make sure it’s ok for ceramic. Some aren’t and it will melt it and cause major issues.

what is the temp in the room now ?
I'll be using a glass terrarium, 90x45x30cm // 36x18x12inch, planning on having a UTH and then CHE in the winter if needed.
At the moment my room is aroimd 18-22 degrees celius, can get colder in the winter.
The socket thing for the "bulb" would be porcelain and 150w or 250w. Do I need a dome or that wire frame? and can I put it on the mesh top directly or is it best to hang it?
