I left work early becuase I dont' feel well, pick up some prescriptions meds (atibiotic and corti steriod) went home about 2 hours early. I started work there in June and have missed a number of partial days do to a wrist injury, one to vote, 2 for a funeral, a couple because I was sick. So heres the question: do I
    1. Go in and see how it goes for a couple of hours?
    2. Call in and not go in at all?
    3. Go in and though it out even though I may be contagous, (I think this because a close friend of mine was sick last week and the lady I live with is sick alse)

i'd say go in... ONLY because i was sick on Sunday and i called in. Monday afternoon, my boss called me and fired me. Even though i rarely call in sick, she had some serious issue with Sunday... so, if i were you, i'd go. Dont' get fired like me

    ball for possible adoption

I would say go in and see how you feel. That way they can see you are truly trying and not just skipping out to go skiing

I'd go in as well. I was really sick last week and the end of the week before, but I went everyday b/c I just got this job end of August. Depends on how much you need/want the job and what they will tolerate I guess.

I ended up calling ym super to leave a message to let her know tha tI was going to come in to make sure all the morning stuff was done under dual control but then I was going to have to leave. I called so she would know as soon as she got in that I would need a replacement as soon as possible. I called at 6:15 her work cell number and instead of me leaving a message, she picked up. She told me that since she knew before she got into work that I would be leaving after a couple of hours that it was easier for her if she just had someone come in at the beginning of that day to replace me instead of moving someone from one branch to another mid shift, so she told me to go ahead and stay home. That was good because, no matter how I hate missing work (I feel like I leav everyone hanging when I do) I was really sick. I psent all day in bed and tried to sleep, but I couldn't because I was so uncomfortable. I would go from freezing cold to sweating buckets, feeling sick to my stomach unable to throw anything up though, to not being able to breath becuase my lungs are so full of crap. I couldn't eat anything all day, I wasn't hungry at all, but I was taking medicine that I am supposed to eat with, but my body didn't want to eat. It was a pretty yucky day. I went to my night class only because it was the last class before the exam, and left as soon as he handed out the review sheet, which ended up being 3 hours into the four hour class. I have no idea what was going on the rest of the class. I couldn't focus or concentrate, I just zoned out until I could leave. Ugh. But I feel much better today, still very icky but functional and I have to energy to smile for the customers. Yippie, and as for as I know I got sick pay yesterday. Double yip. So I will actually have overtime this week becuase I work saturday. Ha

Hope you're feeling better, and congrats on b=eing able to get OT this week. We can't get it until we actually exceed 40 work hours, excluding personal leave and holidays.

Yeah, I understand that. What I meant is that with my employer, if I take one 8-hour sick day and work 35 hours during the rest of the week, I get no overtime. We have to hit over 40 hours of work only, not counting paid leave, to get OT. So you're lucky that you can take a sick day and still get OT.

That is a recent devlopement for me. Before I couldn't do that, I hadn't been here long enough. But now I can its pretty sweet. I only get a certain number of hours for that though.
