As long as you're feeding them a food item that is 1-1.5 times the thickness of their body, you shouldn't have to worry about a visible lump. Ever since I've switched to weaned rats, I notice a nice sized lump in Pelota's belly. Nothing to worry about. I don't think a bp would eat anything too big for them. They know what they can handle.
