Anyone stacking stockpiling silver?

I'm very interested in starting a silver coins and bullion collection. My father has been trying to get me on board for years now an after researching an watching videos on our fiat money system I think I'm going to. Seems very logical to me so far. Just wondering if any of you have any advice or tips or research materials.
Planning on possibly getting small collection of 90 percent pre 1965 US coins and maybe one or two .999 rounds.

If you are looking to invest in silver, best bang for the buck are either bars like Johnson Matthey or generic rounds. They have the lowest premium over spot. But if you are looking for something that is easy to liquidate, probably US Silver Eagles but the premium on them is pretty high but you do get some back on sale.

Also 90% pre 65 silver coins are good too but not the graded stuff as obviously there is a collectors premium on those.

I still need to figure out a plan for what I wish to accomplish. I'm thinking of going for best bang for my buck. A generic 1oz round of silver would be worth just as much as a silver eagle over time correct? but the eagle would be easier to sell. I still need to learn more.

Yes, pure silver is pure silver. Just American Eagles are well known and easy to sell but the flip side to it is you pay a pretty good premium when you buy them and will only get back probably half that if you resell unless of course the price of silver climbs above your premium price.

The best bang for the buck are stuff like 10 ounce and more bars from Johnson matthey. They will have the lowest premium but bars are a lot harder to store than coin bullion. Can just load coin bullion into tubes and be done with it.

I would personally do something like a 10% gold to 90% silver. And buy small denomination gold like 1/10, 1/4 and 1/2 ounce. You pay more of a premium but if the world goes to hell, it will be easier to use smaller gold to buy stuff than 1 ounce. And the silver would be good for even smaller stuff. Plus gold is easier to pack around than silver. Also stocking heavier into silver will allow you to trade off to gold when the gold to silver ratio goes lower and using low premium silver will net you a better turnover when you do it as you wont be losing too much on the premium.

But of course the biggest things you will need will be blankets, food, water, guns and ammo...but gold and silver wont hurt too

Remember when gold to silver ratio is high, buy silver...when low buy gold or if silver heavy, trade in some silver for gold.

sounds kinda like what my father does. very little gold but still gets it from time to time an only in 1g pieces. rest in silver. we aren't too wealthy so 10oz bar seems like a real commitment up front but will totally consider it if its the best value.
He is ready for the collapse lol, on a farm with well water, goats, chickens, veggies, ammo an plenty of deer. I know where im going when poo hits the fan.
I haven't considered gold tho. From what I've researched silver is more scarce than gold and silver has more industrial uses an is used in many products an technologys.

what I'd like find out is if silver became scarce enough or even completely depleted if its value would surpass gold.
