    Post-Holiday Shopping

what are your post-holiday shopping tricks, tips, finds and haul?

so yesterday was Valentines Day and i expected all the unsold stuff esp. the candy to be discounted and available today. after lunch i went the next block over to the RiteAide drugstore and i was on the hunt of Lindor's strawberry white chocolates but did not find any! this is crazy!

    this is the scene:

    Empty shelves and Empty Aisles!

    plenty o' cards tho!

ok i found these bins near the front!

but i did find some nice stuff. this is my haul. i spent like $6 on a peanut butter cup heart box, 2 heart-shaped peeps and a Valentines card.

i'm thinking i need to hit the stores the first thing in the morning next time (but i was running late). the same thing happens to me after Halloween! i'm even thinking of hitting a few stores on the way home to see their availability.

anyway what are your post-holiday tips, tricks and purchases? anything good? anything big?
    RIP Mamba

Remember when stores used to have all the candy and goodies for 50% off the day after the holiday? Pepperidge farm remembers.
That used to be one of my favorite things to do, go stock up after all the major holidays.
I haven't seen anything like that in over 5 years.
Stores either pull it all back to resell later or it's getting shipped back to distributors and written off as a loss (I speculate).
    Ahh the good ol' days

I don't think going in the morning will make any difference. Most just don't do those sales any longer.

    All I can say...

When I have unwrapped chocolate easter bunnies a couple of years ago, the chocolate shape looked suspiciously like a chocolate Santa Claus..I think they re-use what they can re-use
