Best size tub for a female ball python?

I know this has probably been asked tons of times before... but I'm hoping to get my first snake soon and want to learn as much as possible. Very interested in piebald ball pythons but may end up getting something else (it will still be a ball and female though). Not sure which size tub is best.

    The first is 22" L x 16" W x 5 1/2" H
    Second is 33 1/4" L x 17 1/4" W x 5 1/14" H

Would the second be too big? Also, if the snake I get is young, will I have to start out with something smaller? Or can I just clutter the enclosure as much as possible so it feels secure?

I'd go for the bigger option. Saves you having to upgrade later on. As you said, just clutter the enclosure a bit. Add branches and artificial plants and things like that.
