95 F degress???
Hello,
I was setting up and testing my tub for ball python. I was measuring the temperature, then I was wondering what temperature my hand would be. I used temperature gun and it measured 95 degrees, which is a high end temperature for ball python. Is this why when I touch the hot spot for ball python, I feel like it is not hot enough? it says it is at like 90 degrees but I barely feel any heat on the hot spot lol. Maybe my hands are too warm.

Yes, warm to you is HOT to a snake because we have a high body temperature.

95F is pretty darn hot. I give my BP a hot spot of 86-88F like all my other snakes and she pops between hides during the day and at night, she wrecks her cage lol.

Oh yea, I don't know why, my hand measures 95 degrees lol. I have hard time measuring correct temperature of the hot spot because hot spot under hide box and hot spot not under hide box has 2~3 degrees difference. I guess I have to adjust to make hide box hot spot around 90 right? That means the other part of hot spot will be around 86~88. The hide is pretty much keeping the heat in

So even if I don't feel even a warmth on the hot spot, as long as temp gun shows, I should trust with that right?

86 - 90 will be fine for your snake.
Yes, trust the temp gun. You won't feel 90 because your body is naturally warmer than that

We are warm blooded and reptiles are cold blooded.

Yes, our warm hands being 95 is normal... Our body temperature is 98.6 F ...
Which is why we use temp guns to measure temps for our snakes, because anything warm to them feels like nothing to us, unless our hands are cold.
