I know a guy who keeps some of his snakes in his garage, but they're in some sort of heat retaining tent-thing. I'm not really sure what it is or how it works. SDA has a point though. It isn't a good idea to keep them in the garage unless you can control the temperatures somehow. That might involve something like a heat tent, or if you want to use the whole garage you could insulate it and use a heater during the winter and a cooler during the summer. I've thought of doing something similar myself.
