I'm building a wooden enclosure right now 4 by 2 feet with plywood with glass sliding doors on the front. They are perfectly fine for snakes but just be smart. Make sure the ventilation is good along with a safe heat source that the wood will withstand. Most important thing to me is using polyurethane or something like it to water proof the inside of the enclosure to ensure that water sprays, dish, feces, and normal heat and humidity won't rot or warp the wood
