Good info SDA! I've been pretty successful keeping it in the 76-77 zone but it does occasionally slip to 74-75. I was a little uneasy this time around because he just ate last night. The main concern is prolonged and drastic temperature shift. An occasional 74 for a few days is not going to do anything. The problem is if you keep letting it slip further and further past that 75 degree agreed upon safe zone. So long as snake has a safe warm hide to escape to then it won't freeze to death
