im gonna use coconut fiber then, i buy in 11lb bricks and a 3rd of one brick fills my 5’x2’ tortoise tank so i have plenty extra untouched. do you keep it damp or do you let it dry out? and ill just spend the money to try and get a UTH, the room stays anywhere from 70-75° right now (winter) and i havent lived here during the summer so i have no idea what its going to be like once it gets 100°+ outside. i have a smaller 20gal UTH but i doubt thatd be enough for a 40gal. also, putting the probe between the tank and UTH wouldnt that cause the probe to turn off before the ambient temperature reaches what its supposed to?
