i found this at school while researching breeding snakes as a career. from what i get from it, i think it says they breed snakes just for the meat. its not from america, some other country, but its still wrong.

simply sick
This part concerns me more:
Vinh Son commune has taught snakes to eat bran and sliced meat.
What the ...?
At any rate, snakes have been standard fare in many countries for hundreds if not thousands of years now. Rattlesnakes are not an uncommon food item in the United States. Iguanas are eaten south of the border. It's just a fact of life.

Well, you can laugh, but as they explained in the article, this business has saved numerous families from poverty. Just something to think about.

I don't have a problem with it as long as they just don't kill them for sport. Heck its like eating deer or rabbit meat.

This quote bothers me! It is so open-ended and nonspecific:
When people look at my fingers they will see how dangerous snake breeding is," he said.
I don't have any ethical problem with them eating snakes, I just wonder why they had to choose venomous ones to breed as food. I could probably think of other agricultural ventures that would be much more high-yield and less dangerous.

Odd problem from last night...
The venomous species are chosen because of the "medicinal " value to to other cultures , as stated in the artical they also sell the venom There are many cultures in the the world they look upon eating a dangerous animal or its certain parts .. the same as we look upon takeing body building supplements or viagra .. etc...

I guess that traditionally, humans have taken to eating whatever's available in their area.
I really think that "one man's pet is another man's feeder." If you're ever looking for info on breeding rats, or using them as feeders, never go to a pet-rat type site! They will see you se some sort of evil person for using rats as food for your snakes.
I guess it's all about perspective.

According to Nguyen Van Hung, the most experienced breeder, during the winter snakes don’t eat for three months and their blood circulation almost stops. It is safe to handle them.
i dont really believe that. it doesnt mean they cant bite.
