Re: How does the hypo gene work when paired to produce combos

The Hypo gene is recessive so it has to come from both parents to be expressed. You can put a het Hypo to het Hypo or a Hypo to a het Hypo or Hypo to Hypo. All can produce a visual but when using het animals there may be some that don't get both copies so it isn't expressed. As was stated already there are different lines. Most are compatible but there are a few that aren't. People will say Hypo or Ghost but they are the same thing with the most common being Orange Ghost. As examples of what Hypo can do, I paired an Enchi Hypo to Lesser het Hypo and ended up getting almost every combination possible. Here are three pictures of three different combos from the pairing. In each instance the animal on the left is het for Hypo meaning it is carrying the gene but is not expressed. All of the animals on the right are the same combo with the Hypo gene expressed. The differences are clear. As far as what genes are better with Hypo, there are a few of us on here who believe, "everything is better with Hypo". I hope this helps.

Normal het Hypo on left, Normal Hypo on right

Lesser het Hypo on left, Lesser Hypo on right

Lesser Enchi het Hypo on left, Lesser Enchi Hypo on right
