Re: About to give the biggest presentation of my life.... So far
Excellent paper, I grant thee an A.
The area of the paper if you are wanting to drive a point across is the 1 in 50 million odds of being killed by a venomous snake. I would write that horses kill more people per year in the United States and yet I have never seen it make a top 10 list of the "Most Feared" surveys. Might point out the cuteness of a baby fawn and when it grows up it may very well contribute to the 100 plus deaths in the United States due to a car accident. And for the granddaddy of them all is the mosquito will kill another 700,000 people again next year world wide and as a human, we actually enjoy exposing ourselves to them on those cool summer evenings......swat!
As long as we have the fake/drama queen press and movie producers wanting to make a dollar at the expense of an animal, it will continue to be people like you putting up the good fight to educate and speak the truth about an animal that was given a bad wrap in Genesis. I bet if it were a cow getting a bad wrap in Genesis, McDonalds and Texas Roadhouse would still exist.

In my presentation I went into depth about how many people die from dog bites, lightening, cars, and lung cancer. So I think I got the point across that people are really actually afraid of the wrong things.

*If* you haven’t turned in the paper yet, you need to run it by a human proofreader. A couple things that I saw from a skim:
“bred” is past tense for breeding, “bread” is the stuff you eat
“cypress” mulch, not “Cyprus” the country
There may be more, but I wanted to give you a heads-up in case there’s time to fix things.
Computerized spell-checks don’t catch homonyms like these, as they’re not mis-spelled . . . but they aren’t the correct terms, either.

I did see that and I think your presentation is no doubt better than anything than I could write. Just threw some suggestions out for you. No doubt you will be questioned by your teachers or fellow students because you are stating facts, not wives tales and myths. How I would love to be there when you knock it out of the park. Good luck, great job, and as a fellow herper I'm very proud of you.

Ball Pythons are for reptile lovers. Giant Pythons are for snake lovers.

Thank you everyone for you support and encouragement. I really appreciate it! It's up to us to fight the good fight concerning reptiles. It's up to the hobbyists to change peoples minds and perceptions of them. Thanks again everybody!
