She escaped this this morning and I've been frantically trying to find her all day. Now I've tried placing her hides from her cage, hopefully she smells that it's familiar and she can feel safe in it and go in there. I'd place the heat mat but if I place it of the floor without anything she'll get burned if she gets on it. What else should I do?

I figured she has to be somewhere in my room, my door was closed before she escaped and I doubt she could fit under the doors gap. I checked the whole house regardless however. I've also placed towels under the door gaps so it'll trap her in if she is in my room.
You should get some tank locks or clips. I use ones like these, I have a rock on the lid just to be safe.

    Re: Just got 2 pythons

Well, I finally found her .
She was on top of a dresser in my closet that had a couple of stacked DVDs and CDs. I just don't understand how she managed to get up there because there's not a single thing by it, no sticks or boxes or anything that could've possibly helped her climb something so tall and smooth, there wasn't any holes on/in it that could've helped her either.
Whatever though, I finally found her and I'm glad she's fine and back in her enclosure. Found her around 12:30, about 3 hours ago.

At the moment I have a large, heavy book on the right side and a guitar pedal on the left that weighs about 10 pounds on the lid. I was planning on buying one of these but I didn't think they were so cheap. Would that 30 gallon clip work for a 10 gallon tank? (Never mind, just read "fits 29 gallon and smaller") I'm assuming they're pretty reliable.

    Great news !!!

As regards the weights on the lid .... never underestimate the power of a trapped snake !! They can sense weakness in their enclosures and will concentrate their energy into that area ..

I recently handled the BEL yesterday and for some reason a few of his scales are lifted, or so they feel as he slithers on my hand. I checked if he had mites but he doesn't have anything. His humidity is not high at all either. He didn't have this when I first handled him (first day I bought him). Is it something to be worried about?
