Ball pythons are tricky simply because they destroy most vivarium appropriate plants very easily. Larger, sturdier plants that would stand up to a ball python won't really fit in a 18-24" high setup. I have had some success with spider plants that are buried in a ceramic pot, but honestly, I have not had good luck with keeping plants alive after exposure to a 2 kg snake. You might try vining plants like hoya and pepperomia, or if you don't mind trimming, larger ferns and palms would probably have the best chance of surviving a ball python.

Crested geckos are an entirely different story and many plants can be used with them. My crested geckos are in 24" x 18" x 24" or 24" cubes and I too researched non-toxic plants to use with them. Some of the plants I use include:

    Fittonia or nerve plants
Calathea - Calathea lancifolia, Calathea 'Beauty Star', and Calathea ornata
Bromeliads - Cryptanthus and neoregalias work well
Ferns - heart fern is my personal favorite (emionitis arifolia)
    Peperomia serpens, depressa
    hoya curtisii, cummingiana

You can also use jewel orchids, which I love, but you have to be more careful with them as crested can trample them pretty easily. I try and place them low under a branch so the gecko is unlikely to walk on them.

    Some I like include -
Macodes pelota, Restrepia brachypus, ludisia discolor, Anoectochilus formosanus, Sarcolexia...the list goes on
