That's correct. No different that Brian Barczyk that purchases wholesale to resell. These three were are a great price.

In addition, this is no different than those who taken in reptiles and re-home for a fee.

Another way to look at this is I am taking a few specimens/pets that were sitting in a display case for almost a year. I am closely monitoring their environment, health, feeding, and separate them in their own enclosures (which one has stuck shed). In addition, I can control to whom I sell too and chose not to sell if they are not ready or fit to take care of a ball python.

Yes it may seem that I am treating this more of a business, and I do agree with that assessment. However, I am also providing the care that these snakes should of had and when I do sell them; they will be in hands of deserving owners.

    Respectfully,
    Galen

ok, i'm glad you're transparent about it.

also i've noticed in your vids that u have one reptile room that u include the housing of both your personal collection and new snakes/animals. u should separate and QT new, unknown animals for the security of your collection and business. u never know what a new animal might bring in with it. just trying to give you feedback and happy herping.

I thought about buying and reselling snakes but the risk of disease scares the heck out of me. I knew a breeder that caught something nasty and it went through his whole collection and killed every single snake. He almost got out of the hobby but actually started over again. Even just mites or RI scare me, the more snakes I have the more I stay away from any new additions as much as possible. Buying any animal just to sell is way too risky in my opinion, I'm guessing most deals have some issues, for ball pythons I'm guessing it's mainly feeding issues. Those are some nice pickups though, I'd be tempted to keep that Pastel Ivory and breed it to a Highway or Freeway.

Thanks for the advice/feedback and the understanding. Unfortunately, I have limited room as my daughter has taken over my reptile room.

For RI, I am very cautious as I have a rescue that I am keeping that had severe RI, which had to be treated twice. After vet services from two sources local and UC Davis (I was extra precautions) they said keeping the RI snake in a separate terrarium and far enough so there is no physical contact (i.e. smelling each other through the screen). In addition, wash thoroughly, which I do after handling each snake.

Basically I handle the RI snake on separate days from the rest. Anything she touches outside her terrarium is sterile. I had this snake for almost a year and have not had an RI case pass to another snake.

The new additions are treated for mites, even if they do not have them. I use Provent-A-Mite as well as mite spray.

Believe me, this is one of the debates I had when I decided to start breeding and resale. One part is I could bring harm into my own collection and the other is I could bring harm to a buyers collection.

I hear you on this. However, there is one snake I purchased for my personal collection that has head wobble. Unfortunately, the seller did not mention this and he assumed I should know since the snake has the Spider gene. I informed him that not every Spider has this issue and it would be nice to disclose this information. In addition, some may misinterpret this as IBD. I confirmed it does not have IBD but just the head wobble from genetics. As you know, even with personal collection additions there are risks.

I am temped to keep them, but I promised my wife I would not. I am already planning on the Raven Breeding Project using the Super Black Pastel (coming next month from BHB), the Super Cinnamon, and eventually a Suma. I also have a GHI Mojave breeding plan as my male is getting closer to maturity.
