Congratulations! It just so happens that I decided to put a deposit down on almost the same exact animals a couple days ago! lol Mine are both 2017 25% Kalatoas, but neither of them are Het. My boy is a Purple Albino Motley just like yours and the girl is a Purple Albino Golden Child. They will be my first Retics and I am very excited to get them, but also a little scared... lol I'm just hoping I can keep them a manageable size with smaller prey size and careful feeding schedules. The breeder i'm getting mine from also recommended that I only feed them once every 14 days for the first 2 years then only once per month. I really want to keep them 8' - 10', but I have my doubts. I'm guessing they will probably end up 10' - 12', which I could still live with. I think it's all going to come down to how relentlessly they end up pushing between meals.
I posted a thread about them with photos here if you would like to check them out:

Best of luck with your new friends! It will be very interesting to compare these guys with each other as they grow!

Hi
Have you tried 'tap training' ??
If so disregard this but if not then I'd do some research on it .
Also I remove most of mine with the aid of a hook just out of habit and because I've got good at doing it . It keeps their head ( teeth lol) away from me and I support the main weight with my other hand - once they're out they don't 'usually' strike tbh unless they're in shed or they're just like that anyways ..

She was not handled for 7 months of her life and that bite was while I was holding her. Some breeders grow their collection so big and fast, that the only thing they do is clean and feed. I'm a big believer in hook training, but she is very defensive right now. She strikes anytime you walk by or get near her enclosure.
