    Disinfecting AP T8

I'm about to order Chlorhexadine 2% and F10 disinfectant.

I'm going to use it for cleaning the Animal Plastics T8 enlcosure. Do both items work in similar fashion... meaning, mix with water, spray, let sit 20-30 minutes, then rinse? I don't have to run water over it. I can just maybe spray some regular water after the 20-30 minutes, and just wipe dry? That's safe for the animals?

And, second... F1SC, or F10SC XD? What's the difference. I think the XD is considered a detergent?

F10 scxd is a cleaner/sanitizer that needs to be rinsed after using it for cleaning. The XD stands for extra detergent.
The regular F10sc is a disinfectant that needs to dry on the surface of whatever it's cleaning in order to be effective. I use both, clean with SCXD and disinfect with SC. From what I could gather they have a longer useful lifespan after mixing than chlorhexadine but chlorhex still works great too. Just have to mix a new bottle more frequently

I personally just use F10SC. I use it for monthly or bimonthly cleanings depending on the snake and use it for spot cleaning poop or piss.

The stuff works awesome for lifting dried urate. I used to use Chlorhexadine years ago but the stuff doesnt seem to lift dried urate as well as F10SC but overall they both work well.

Chlorhexadine doesn't need to be rinsed. It is sufficiently animal safe to be used as an oral rinse in appropriate dilutions for certain issues.

Ok... so, the F10SCXD I need to rinse. Do I let it sit for awhile, then spray in some water and wipe down?

And, the F10SC... that one I just let it dry and don't wipe?

I thought you had to rinse both. But, maybe I'm confusing what's meant by rinsing. Being an AP T8, I can't clean it out like I would a tub. So, do I spray it down with water and wipe down?

    Sorry for not understanding.

F10SC is sprayed, let sit for 10-15 mins and then just wipe.

F10SCXD has 'soap' in it basically so you need to rinse it well enough to wash away the residue.

I personally dont use F10SCXD because i cant drag out my T25s and hose them off in my driveway. I just use F10SC and it has worked fine at keeping everything clean.
