Normal?

Is it normal for my male BP not to fast during winter? He did last year, for 4 months, but is still feeding currently. 2 years old now, so he's no baby.

As far as I know ( hopefully someone more experienced can chime in ) bps are pretty flaky with feeding, so I wouldn't worry.

I agree with MD, ball pythons are picky eaters, and from what I've read, almost everyone's BP here fasts during winter. So just offer him food every week or so, and if he doesn't want it, just take it out and wait next week.

I'd say it's normal. My old male ball python very rarely ever turns down meals, but when he was about 4 or 5 years old he shut down in the winter (Florida winter). Wouldn't eat for 6 months! Freaked me out, but he stayed healthy. I offered food monthly after a couple months of his fasting. One day he took a rat and that's the last time he ever went off food for more than a couple weeks. And that was about 19 years ago!

If yours is eating that's great... If he's not, but healthy...no worries either. Good luck
