Some audible breathing is normal, especially if there is something stuck in their nose like a piece of substrate or leftover shed, and they breathe harder.

If it sounds like a whistle and continues often, it may be RI. Later stages of RI show clear mucous bubbles in/around the mouth. You can find pics of it on google.
