Can you use a UTH with a pvc enclosure?
Im ordering mine on december 1st. And I've been hearing that setting up heat tape can be a pain so I'm just wondering if a UTH can be used instead... And if so which is better? Thanks in advance for anyone's response!

Yes. Just set the thermostat probe under the enclosure between and the UTH and the tub.

UTH is basically the same thing as heat tape. Heat tape is easy to set up. Just have Reptile Basics crimp the plug wire for you. Then you buy a roll of aluminum tape from any hardware store and tape the sides down to the outside bottom of the cage.

I can't speak for heat tape since I've never used it, but you can definitely use a UTH for a pvc enclosure! I'm using one (ultratherm) with my AP pvc cage and it's works fantastic!

Ultratherm is pretty much exactly the same as heat tape. So are the Fluker ones. The only ones that are a little different are the Zoo Med ones which hate. Like other stuff by Zoo Med, just not their UTHs.

If you are getting an AP cage just get the flexwatt option it is cut to size and prewired. If RBI get the cage heat kit as it is also cut to size and prewired. Worth the price.

I'm actually getting it from a Canadian place they have an option to add the heat tape so I emailed them to ask if I add the option will the wires be connected so I'll see what they say
