I’ve never actually seen one before, but I’m pretty sure it’s what it is. Can anyone confirm?

That is what you're looking at, but it's not what you think you're looking at. It's a hemipenal cast, not a sperm plug. A lot of people use the term "sperm plug" with ball pythons when they actually mean "hemipenal cast". Ball pythons don't actually produce sperm plugs.
