Not normaly you would need to go to a pet store (any will do) and get a bulb like the repti-sun 5.0
cost around $20 and need to be replaced every 6 months to properly provide UVB rays
It should be noted for the newer herpers that not all reptiles require UV lighting. Although many lizards do, ball pythons and other nocturnal reptiles do not. Diurnal reptiles, such as iguanas, do require UVA and UVB lighting.
They don't "need" one, per se. Usually the ambient light of whatever room they are in is sufficient. If a BP is kept in an unusually dark room, you may want to use supplemental lighting.
