Question why do BP try to press against the top

My new(and first) ball python, at night, loves to come out and see if she could open the top. i was wondering if she is just trying to get out and explore/hunt/do snake stuff. or is that a sign that some of my husbandry is wrong?
    any help would be great

It could be both. Check your husbandry. If it's on point, and your enclosure is set up right, then it's the first thing. If it's not, then it's the second thing. If you'd like, feel free to share a pic of your setup and the details about your husbandry and we can troubleshoot along with you.

If temps and humidity were completely out of whack, your ball python wouldn't wait for the night shift to explore the top and sides of it's cage. I think you hit it on the head, out doing snake stuff. All of my snakes I have ever owned did snake stuff. Enjoy your snake.

My husbandry is spot on, and I have one snake that always tries to get out. The rest are more chill.
