It is just a glorified power cord that gets warm. There is no way that is made to get cut. Doing so not only voids any warranty but makes it dangerous because now you are using something far beyond what it was designed for.
There is a product made for what you want to do so why would you not use that?
Get THG or flexwatt heat tape and use it as designed.
