I've never seen a DIY divider that worked to separate snakes in a tub. They always manage to dislodge it, or people use tape with tragic results(snakes should never ever have tape in the cage with them).

The easiest thing to do is to just get two tubs. That way, there's no worries about the divider coming loose.
