Snake weight vs. feeder weight formula?
Just bought a hatchling B.P. today (happy dance) and need some clarification on feeding size. The breeder told me she ate a rat pup pr. week. I think his definition of "pup" is different than that of my feeder supplier. My older b.p. eats a rat pup (20 - 25 gms.) each week. When I mentioned this size to the breeder of my new girl, he agreed that this would be far too big but I didn't get a clear understanding of what size he's been feeding. He mentioned the feeders were aprox. 2 wks. old but I don't know what weight that would make them. I seem to remember seeing a formula for feeder size based on weight of b.p., but I can't find it. Can someone advise? My hatchling is 70 gms. Thank you.

At 70 grams you are really looking for rat fuzzy on the smaller side.

I go by 10% of the snake weight, so about 7 grams. I'd probably feed every 4 days.
