The probe should be outside the enclosure.

Yeah, maybe if you are using rubbermaid containers, but I use RHPs inside AP enclosures. No way are you going to get accurate with probes outside.

Most people Ive seen just drill a small hole close to the ground where the snake could be and secure it to the wall
