    Proper sized rats?

I need to get jeffree some more food on Saturday and I'm wanting to switch him from mice to rats when I weighed him a week or two ago he was 307 grams the feeding chart says rat pups but that's not very specific thanks in advance

So then I would need a 30 gram rat? What would a 30 gram rat be approximately weaned, fuzzy etc?

Rat pups are ~20-35 grams. The size weights are pretty standard with rodent vendors. Check any of the online ones like big cheese or perfect prey to get an idea of weight to size.

I go by the online resource I buy from to know the size I am getting then I weigh one to get a base of what the batch I just ordered roughly weighs per rat.

    Re: Proper sized rats?

Are you getting your rat from a store or online? Typically online it will give you a typical weight range of the ones you are buying and in store, depending on where you go, they may weigh them for you if you ask.

I get mine from a local reptile store and they always weigh mine for me, they are real nice and I typically tip them for it. I feel my boy Meeko who is a little over 300 grams about 30 gram rats as well. Rat pups are typically what you would go for I believe but idk if it's just the store I go to or all f/t but they run a bit smaller (The guy in the store said all f/t run small but I don't really have any other experience to base it on) So I always get weaned rats and they're perfect.

So if you do go to a local reptile store it might be worth asking if they can weigh them for you

Here's a link to where you can get an idea of the sizes. What you want is a rat pup, 20-30 grams.
