What features should I buy with my T10 terrarium?

    Greetings,

In the near future, I will be buying an Animal Plastic's T-10 terrarium for my ball python. On the company's website, there are a number of features that you can pay to be added to your terrarium. The features are: door locks, flexwatt belly heat, white fluorescent fixture, basking shelf, 8" stand, 8" circle screens (used for 8" dome lights), 20" X 12" screen. What features do you suggest I buy?

Looking at the picture of the T-10, I wasn't sure how heat could get in (I currently use a heat lamp and UTH). How does the terrarium stay ventilated and keep the humidity at optimum levels?

Thank you. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Re: What features should I buy with my T10 terrarium?

I would recommend a radiant heat panel instead of lamps to heat the cage. Also, they offer an LED light option (not on the website yet) that is much nicer than the fluorescent lights. I'd get those, a door lock, shelf, and maybe heat tape if your room stays warm enough to use heat tape alone for a hot spot.
There are vents along the sides of the cage, humidity stays in great.
Check out the thread on setting up a T8 for other ideas/suggestions/etc. Lots of good info there https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...-With-Pictures!

Out of the offered options I'd go with belly heat and door locks. The rest is easy enough to reproduce yourself

Get the rhp, locks and flex watt at the minimum.

Call when ordering and get the LED option. Not on the website but is really well installed.

Get the LED lights and RHP (I believe you can buy and ship one to them and they install it for free). I'd also get a basking shelf personally, so I can put a couple hides and some decor on it.

If you get an RHP, you don't need the flexwatt.
