Climbing Branch Ideas?

Hey y'all, I'm in the process of enriching Fírnen's enclosure and I wanted to ask this question to all of you people who also have bps who like to climb.

What do you use for climbing "branches"? How did you install them? Fírnen is definitely a climber and I want him to stop climbing the hanging thermometers

Sanded drift wood is what i use. I just look for a big piece and put it in the tank after I clean and sand it.

Easiest is to go to petsmart and get one of the artificial branches they sell either for aquariums or reptiles. I know it's not the cheapest but they are super durable and dishwasher safe and mold resistant.

I have this with vines wrapped around the top and it works great.

As already mentioned - driftwood found at the beach is fabulous .
I also look for dead : fallen branches in the local woods and parks . Give it a quick hose down , spray with diluted F10 and prune : cut to length . I then wedge them in place and secure with a lot of hot glue .

Oh man, so I got all these cool plant vines and climbing branches with suction cups beforehand ONLY THEY DONT STICK TO my AP PVC lol (I'm going to try and see if maybe hot glue works and I'll just have to re-glue after every cage clean)

but I got this really cute one that you can find at Petsmart (I just cry in the corner bc I haven't been able to use it yet lol).

Reptile hammocks or those little wooden bridges (like what Maze has) you find for rodents are also good choices (just make sure the wood is reptile safe and you may wanna pretreat to be safe)

If you want more of a diy approach you can always use pvc pipes you find at Home Depot/lowes and make your own jungle gym.

also a note about woods. If you want to have them last longer and less prone to mold I recommend using sealant on them. Just make sure it's non toxic/low voc, water based and at the very least water resistant. Water proof being best of course.

Zinc question! I forgot what cage you're using for your ball pythons but how well would you say hot glue secures branches? Or how long does it last and how often do you need to re-glue? Im thinking of trying to glue some climbing furnishings I have but I'm unsure if the humidity may effect its strength?

I just made a dowel ladder for mine, so it also provides a hide when plants are draped over it.

Nothing too fancy, just got some 3/8" dowels in a bag, ziptied them together with thin-short zip ties, melted/smoothed the edges from the trimmed zip ties. Sure there'd be an easier way to put them together with certain tools but was trying to keep the thing frugal since I didn't know if he'd like it.

Thicker/larger than the bird perch ladders like so, so figured this would be better for an adult.




Also can get a lot of ideas from bird toys like this, imho.

Planning to have a "net" like this when he upgrades, etc.

I predominantly use wooden vivs .
Hot glue is surprisingly strong and durable and waterproof - and yet you can gently pull it away or even cut it away if and when required . The glue does occasionally pull away it self or gets dislodged by a snake but then the glue provides a ready made 'flap' that can be the-glued after both surfaces have been cleaned .
Lasts for years normally .
