Re: Probe placement on radiant heat panel :)

Mine comes through the back wall (where pro panel cord goes too) and over the top of pro panel between ceiling and pro panel then hangs 1/2 way between floor and ceiling. I'll see if i can find a pic. Then my thermometer probe is on the hot aide and thermometer is mounted on cool side for cool ambient.

Here you see my RHP probe hanging on the Hot Side over the RHP and other pic my thermometer mounted on opposite side. The thermometer probe runs out the back and comes in on the hot side and under my substrate on the floor, its mounted under the hot hide.

Just drop it in from the top, a few inches or so below the panel. Adjust your thermo from there. I find my sensor to read just a few degrees different from the floor temp, I get a nice floor temp with good ambient.

Hey i have not hooked my rhp up yet, but i have a question. When i talked to bob over at pro products he said i should place the probe for the rhp on the cool side and away from the heat source, so i can have the rhp temp for the cool side at the desired temp. Is this also an option. Im waiting on my herpstat redline to arrive so i can finish the t8 build.

That's another way to do it yes didn't work for me depends on your normal house temperature in the room the enclosures in and also depends on the size of the cage T8 is much smaller than mine so that may be the way to go I trust what Bob says

My pannel didn't come with a finished plug in. Just a white cord and a seprate plug in piece. Just put the wire in the plug in and squish it in. Then plug that into your herpstat and plug your herpstate into a wall!

If you got it from RBI (not sure if pro products does the same style cord), the second page here shows how to install the power cord

They both have similar power cord installation.
