My female fit well in about a 3'x18" enclosure until she was around 3 years old.
Also, males can reach sexual maturity earlier, but that doesn't mean they stop growing. Dums grow until they're 5~6 years old actually, before the growth rate tapers off a bit. But they technically continue growing their entire lives. So yes, they grow slowly relative to other boa species.
Yeah, that size will work for the first ~3 years of its life. I'd personally start out with a yearling or older though, because babies are known to be hard to get started on eating.
Actually baby dums tend to be pigs.. every litter I had ate without any issues ...

Oh that's nice to know. I've always been told that they had issues eating.

Re: Dumeril boas
Depends on their size. My 5'10" female is eating one large rat every 3~4 weeks.

Not any snake species have the same feeding schedule... Babies eat more often (usually once a week), and it becomes more infrequent as they get older.

Re: Dumeril boas
I am going to get a dumerils boa that is 4 years old and his girth is massive, the owner has been feeding him once a week. Is that overfeeding?
He is selling the cage with snake and everything inside for 120 dollars(rand 1500)
