The term "pinstripe" has nothing to do with solid back striping or anything else other than that the animal displays the gene. Pinstripe refers to the codominant gene named pinstripe, not a vocabulary term used to describe a whimsical happenstance of pattern, like the terms "black back" or "full stripe". "Black back" and "full stripe" occur naturally, often randomly, and it doesn't mean there is a gene behind it (though there are some genetic black backs and full stripes, most aren't). It's just a cool pattern abnormality, if you can even call it that.

"Pinstripe" is always going to be used in reference to the codom gene that can be passed on, whether the animal has a full back stripe or broken one, busy or random pattern, etc.

That description he gave is confusing. Pinstripe is called pinstripe because that's what it does to the pattern. That is to say it makes thin lines across the snake. Think pinstripe suit. So named because of the thin lines across the suit. Or the pinstripes of the NY Yankees, the greatest baseball team ever As far as full dorsals or back stripes that can occur across a variety of genes and randomly in normals. The only true full genetic dorsal to my knowledge is the genetic stripe but even that one can have breaks. I was lucky enough to recently purchase this beauty which is a Rio or super Arroyo and has a full dorsal

I can't 100% vouch for the veracity of this but iirc the "first" pinstripe was a WC specimen in '99 bought by BHB/SnakeBytes. Wasn't around in that era of the hobby to know if there's pics of that specimen floating around but some of the oldies might be able to shed some more light on the issue. I'd love to see pics of that first WC specimen, if they're available somewhere.

It'd be interesting to compare them to the "Pinstripe" offered here over a decade later.

Re: What is your fav Pinstripe?

Wow perfect thread to show the newest addition my lemon blast het puzzle girl which i love. Yes boops have been aplenty lol. Also just to mention it kinda looks like there's some stuck shed on her head but it's just light reflections or something.

I got her back in June and her quarantine is almost up. She seems to be healthy and have no mites oh and she isn't a problem feeder so good job b&b. She has a bit of an attitude but it's not really bad heck it's probably why she's a good feeder. I actually think its kinda cute. Every time i take her out she hisses and puffs but always calms down pretty quickly no snapping well 99% of the time anyway.

Here's b&b's picture. Which is a good one. I really like the choice of stone tile they used along with this little missy of course.

Knowing she came for tim i'm confident that she really is 100% het for puzzle. I didn't get my pastel lesser from tim but i'm confident enough it really is 100% puzzle and hopefully they produce an amazing clutch someday. Maybe Super pastel pinstripe puzzle among other possibilities. But yeah that's about it sorry for side tracking a bit with the puzzle stuff but i'm just trying to give some info and some background on her. Hope you guys enjoy the pics and the read.

For a simple common combo, I think yellow belly pins are pretty awesome. Hypo pins are pretty cool, but I think hypo makes everything better. If you want to move up in price, a lot of the orange dream pin combos catch my attention.

its a simple recessive morph. breed a het hypo to a het hypo and you have a 1/4 shot at making a hypo.

I tried taking a quick cell pic for you, but it can't come close to grabbing her color. WOBP has a good one tho http://www.worldofballpythons.com/fi...stripe/003.jpg
