    It's generally not recommended to handle a bp more than 2 or 3 times per week as it can cause stress (and only for brief periods) and to leave them be for a week or two after you get them so they can acclimate. Too much activity is stressful and can cause food refusal and defensive behavior. Your bp is new to you, in a new home he's adjusting to and then he was handled a few times because the power was out. When your snake strikes at you it's because he doesn't feel safe (unless it's feeding time, which is another story).

    Just let him chill, don't handle him for a week or so and make sure the husbandry is on point, and he'll be just fine.
