Fid I Feed to Early?

So i got my BP on Friday. He is around 2 years old and is a super chill guy from what i can tell. The guy i got him from said he hadnt eat in 9 days on Friday. Ive read that you should leave them alone for a week to get used to things but then I got worried that he hadnt eat in a while so on Sunday i offered him a f/t rat. He took it almost instantly and then went into his cool side hide and hasnt come out since. Now im worried that maybe I stressed him by feeding too early. Also i havent seen him drink any water (though i suppose he could be doing that at night when im asleep).

If he ate it wasn't too early. As for drinking. I have had ball pythons a while. I have close to 50 right now and have seen one drink only 3 times. It's a rather rare sight

I've only got 4. And only seen 1 drink before. They probably are just secret about it. But I feed wet f/t. So they probably get their drinking that way.
