New ball pythons first feed question

I have a accurite thermometer with a probe on the warm side and a probeless one on the cool side.

The warm side one sounds fine but the one on the cool side sounds like it may just be giving very approximate ambient air temps so that would/could be far different to the floor of the cool side ..
