Well I tried a f/t small rat last night w/ Osiris and he took it no problem.
It seemed really big for him and I had to help him get it turned around so he could go at it head first ( silly boy was trying to down it by it's front leg)
But that little jaw opened bigger than I thought.
I just hope he continues on the rats and doesn't become like Ozzy and want only mice.
I was so proud of the little guy. I guess living in a 10 gal tank w/ another 4' bp for months w/ no food or water makes for a bp that aint gonna miss a meal now
Thanks for letting me share!

I've been thinking of switching over to rats soon.. how big is your snake, and also, I'm not familiar with rat sizes.. how large is a small rat compared to an adult mouse?

If you go to www.rodentpro.com They'll have pictures of mice and rats which you can compare.

Osiris is about 28-30" but very skinny.
Being a rescue case, not sure how old he is.
RodentPro has good pics to help w/ sizing.
I got his rat at Petco and there small are about the size of RodentPro's med.
Go Figure!
As for sharing, other than w/ my son no one else around me could care less.
They tolerate my snake dribble cuz they are indeed friends.
To share and be a proud snake mom I only get luv from here.
Thanks Guys.

Congrats on the switch!!!
I finally just got my pastel male to take his first rat tonight (albeit live, but he never took f/t mice either), so I'm now 11/11 on rats.... but only 9/11
on f/t. I've been pretty lucky that I've been able to switch over every one without having to do anything special.

Congrats to you, too, hhw! Do you plan to try to get him on fresh-killed to see if he'll take that for you?
