    huh?

I don't know why she's doing it, but I'm sure she has her reasons and probably won't tell you what they are.....

seriously though, what are the temps currently? If it's not the temps, could just be she needs a change. Smitty's temps are always in the 'good' range, but just recently he took to curling up on top of his cool side hide--like Snoopy! This lasted a couple of weeks and now he's back to sleeping inside them. Temps were no different, but I guess he just needed a change of scenery. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

well 80 on the cool side and 91 on the warm side. Its always been like that but when i first got her she was always on top of her warm side hide, then spent a while just bing in her cool hid, then spent a while in her hot hide, then she kept on switchin, and now shes where i said. I guess shes just weird like that!

alfy's the same way. he'll sometimes hang out behind his cool hide where it's even cooler. if he ever heats up in his warm hide (rarely), he'll spend his next day and half over in the coolest area, behind his cool hide behind this big fake plant, as if he overdid it and needs to just chill out. temps are perfect, that's just what he does.

My girl rarely ever uses the cool hide. Everytime I put her in her cage after handling or anything, I put her head near the water bowl. She'll drink a bit, then mosey on into her warm hide. As long as temps are fine, I wouldn't worry about it. Each snake has their own heat and hide preferences. Some snakes stop using their hides as often as usual after they get accustomed to everything and feel comfortable in their enclosure, too.

    The Big Switch

Issa goes to sleep in his cool hide by the time I get up and leave for class. He usually spends most of his time in the middle of the tank (near the back, it's usually about 80 in there) during the night. Usually about the time I see him bask underneath the light, it's about the time he "wakes up", which is anywhere from 6 to 8 pm.
