Not a ball
Ever since i got my BP 6 months back she’s made progress. She came with burns and scale rot and for my first ball python, i feel like i dealt with it pretty good; but she never has balled up. When i accidentally hurt her or touched her burn spot when she had it, she never balled up; instead when she feels threatened in her cage, she turtles up and hides in her hides while slowly peeking out her head like a turtle,Is this behavior common? I know it’s not that big of a deal but im actually curious on why she never does that and if its some sort of mental issue.

How big is she? Bigger ones, at least in my experience, rarely ball up.

Not all ball pythons want to ball up, it depends on the individual. My albino male has never balled up in his life, from since I purchased him at one month old, and he is 2.5 years old now.
My BEL rarely balls up either- I've only seen him do it maybe twice in his life.
They also don't usually ball up just from being touched a bit, it's usually after being picked up and held.
The other four BP's I've owned/own ball up often.
