Two questions...
1) The humidity in my room is about 55-60, but with the 60 watt bulb i'm using in my sterilite the humidity drops to about 30. I have a small water dish in there, but doens't seem to do much. Do you think its better to put the water directly underneath the light or not? and how else can i increase my humidity?
2) i have a human heat pad without an autoshut off, but sometimes after about 2 days of being on it willl just shut off. do you know what might be causing this or how i could fix it?
thanks

1. Are you covering part of your screen top? If not, i suggest covering it with something ( duct tape on the outside, contact paper, a damp towel ). That will help keep the humidity in. You could also try a bigger water bowl and you could try misting a couple of times a day. How are you measuring your humidity?
2. How high do you have it set? It might be getting too hot and shuts off on its own without a timer on it. What are your temps like?

Compadres, it is imperative that we crush the freedom fighters before the start of the rainy season. And remember, a shiny new donkey for whomever brings me the head of Colonel Montoya.

Try either misting or getting rid of the heat lamp, i got rid of mine and it did wonders for my humidity,i have my room hooked up to a thermostat and it doesnt fall below 80 (which to me is an ok cool side) so i dont need a heat lamp anymore.
If you are using a substrate that holds water well misting would be a good idea, either that or you could just get a larger water bowl.

Since you said you have a steralite, you can also try convering some of the holes you punched in for ventaliation.
