Immediate copulation!

I bought this little banana/CG Enchi last month and the breeder I got him from said he's sired two clutches already back in April/May, when I got home with him he only weighed 320 grams. I've done extensive research on breeding male weights and possible side effects but I weighed him last night and he's up to 440 and since the breeder said he's already done it twice with no side effects I decided to drop him in with Spider to see if he even cares for her and 5 minutes later I checked on them and they were already locked! They remained locked for 14 hours and separated them and they both ate. How long do you think I should wait before introducing such a little guy to her again? Should I stick with the 3 days on 3 off? Also I will be replacing the pine chips with paper towels, I tried the pine because I have so much of it for my rat racks but I hate it, it gets full of moisture and I'm afraid it will mold. Oh one more question, what do you all use as a cleaner for tubs and water bowls? I've just been using water and a dab of soap but I'm wondering if I should be using something specifically made for reptiles? Thanks for any help in advance! Yes Deborah is correct. I've breed my female's once a month as well. I have always gotten clutches using this method as well.

Thanks for the help, I wonder why people introduce their males 5 times a month when once a month works just as well plus you're not stressing out either animal.

If you cycle a male through multiple females your male does need rest weekly during that time it will be fed and rested.

The rest really depends on how many females you want to cycle him through.

My goal is to make sure that my males gets around my females at least once a month if I witness lock or twice if I do not. I pair my animals when the time is right (using the weather, when my females start building etc) and I keep them together for 48 hours max, so in general my males are paired 8 days out of the months (I try to maintain a 1.4 ratio), however some maybe paired more if I have more females or less.

There is no need to waste or exhaust a male pairing him 3 days at the time each week with the same female. You just witness a lock leave him be until next month and next month use the weather at your advantage when you pair.

I know this is off the topic of your question but I'm pretty positive that pine is toxic to use as a substrate for ball pythons

Kilndried pine is not toxic, that is outdated information, more recent studies disprove this. I keep my king snake on pine, and all of my feeder rodents on pine, as do many other breeders of both reptiles and rodents.
