Have a glass tank or want one but low humidity a problem

Probably very true. I got to worrying about possibility of fire's too. Didn't sleep well. Wouldn't want that to happen to anybody. Safety is foremost to me. Wouldn't want to give any tip that would cause a fire. Lives and property are too important to me. I think your idea is a better one ( Love it ) . Too many dummies in the world. And maybe I am one of them.

Instead of using a plastic wrap on the top I would suggest foil wrapped cardboard. It retains the heat but doesn't have the melting and fire hazard to worry about.
