Scale Rot or something else? Please help!

Last week I noticed an odd scale issue on my ball python and because she was getting ready for a shed I thought I'd wait and see how it looked post-shed. She completed her shed today and the odd scale issue is still there. I have never encountered this with her before and don't want to get into a panic if it's something not to worry about. Does this look like scale rot? I have no experience with that so I've never seen it in person before. She is otherwise acting normal, is a healthy eater, and poops regularly.

    Any ideas?

I have no experience with what your photo is showing, so I will let people who actually have experience help you out.

Some people like to chime in without the proper experience and/or knowledge. You'll learn pretty quickly who to take advice from and who to just ignore.

I personally only offer advice when I am properly qualified to do so.

It really can be a variety of thing from scratches depending on what you feed or use as bedding to the beginning of scale rot it hard to tell or diagnose online.

Not something Vet worthy IMO, I would keep an eye on it, make sure it does not get bigger, make sure it's not oozing, and my bet is that it will all be gone after one shed given the extent.

In the mean time keep your BP on paper towel, make sure it clean and dry.

The thing is with light morph is that the slightest little thing we would no see on a normal or dark morph shows, every little imperfection every little boo boo etc.

Thank you! Without having seen this before, to me it almost looks like she just scratched herself on something. The scales are still there, they just look damaged. They're clean and don't show signs of oozing or infection as of yet. I feed her frozen/thawed and I was previously keeping her on Aspen shavings, but have since switched over to paper towels. I did have a triceratops/rock thing as part of her decor and something to help her rub against for shedding, but it's possible that she could have damaged herself on that so I've taken that out for the time being. I will keep an eye on it and see what happens. She is otherwise active and eating well with no change in disposition. Thank you for your help!
