I'm confused, are they looking for someone to foster with the intent of the boa's finding a new home or are they looking for someone to take care of their boa for a few months?

Looking for a place for a few months. Signed a six month lease and did not disclose or even consider thier boa was an issue, neighbors saw her and freaked. They never will give her up, just need a few months till lease is up and they can move. Location is Santa Rosa or neighboring town, will come feed her and visit.

This sounds a little bit like how I ended up with my hognose boy, Cosmo.
It started as a favor for a coworker and turned into a forever thing. I'm happy it worked out this way, and I'm happy he's here forever since I've grown to love the little guy...
She swore it was just for a little while, but...

Anyway, I would be leery of watching the snake "for a few months". They didn't mention anything when the signed they lease for a reason, they were shady about it and they thought they could get away with it, but were busted.
Could be different from my situation, but proceed with caution...

Local reptile stores in this area are: East Bay Vivarium in Berkeley and Reptile Room in Hayward. I don't know if either do long term boarding but you can always ask. Be aware both places may have mites from time to time due to the simple amount of animals that pass through. EBV is the better store in my opinion but RRoom has gotten better than it was 10 years ago. Oh and there's also The Serpentarium out in Lodi run by good people.

You might have better luck contacting a local reptile society, there's a few around here: BAARS Bay Area Amphibian and Reptile Society and CVHS Central Valley Herpetological Society, both are really good groups. If they don't have members that are willing they should at least be able to point you to some reptile rescues that may be able to board.

    Good luck!
