Mystery eggs
First off let me state that I was sure my season was over.
Went to the youngwood Reptile show today to pick up my rat order. Got home and was cleaning and feeding my snakes when I got a very nice surprise
Mid August last season I traded one of my male BP's for a breeder black pastel female. She came in emaciated. I didn't think she was going to survive but after a few get trips and some several successful feedings she began to look like a snake again.
I didn't pair her this season because of the shape she came to me in. I wanted her to have a full season to recover from her ordeal.
Well she didn't want the season off I guess as she laid 5 eggs today. I have a beautiful clutch of mystery babies comming

I would get a bigger container personally. You donmt want the eggs touching the edges of the tub. Gratz on the eggs though!

Can't you ask who you traded with what she was last paired with? I'd be mad if someone traded me an emaciated animal. I've also bought a surprise gravid female that hadnt been paired since her previous clutch so it was just retained sperm but i just asked the person i got her from what combos were a possibility.

I did and they said she wasn't paired last season. So I only have what she was paired to 2 years ago. And yes I wasn't happy about her condition and it wasn't just her either both animals I got from her if turned in would have landed her in jail. So I suppose I'll just have to wait till they hatch. I still worry about my boy she has.

Is it someone local? Id be concerned about the future condition of the male you gave her too. I'd just hope she was correct and go by what the female laid previously.

No she was in Iowa. And yes. I'm very concerned about the male I sent her. But I've told her on numerous occasions that if she can't feed him I'll buy him back. He's still my baby after all
