First your hot spot is way too hot to start with 92 is the most I would recommend especially for a young animal. Both your hides should be TIGHT, like a shell fitting a turtle tight.
As far as a young BP striking it's normal they are defensive by nature and see you as a predator, expecting a young BP not to strike would be like expecting a puppy not to have an accident on the carpet.
Leave it alone for a week offer food and once it's start eating start handling starting with sort sessions, young defensive individual will grow out of it with time as they put on some size.
